We Build Apps That Actually Work

Started in 2019 with just two developers and a bunch of coffee. Now we're a team that's launched over 40 apps across Southeast Asia. Still drinking too much coffee, though.

Most dev shops talk about innovation and transformation. We'd rather talk about what we've actually built and what went wrong along the way. Because honestly, that's where the real learning happens.

How We Got Here

The path from idea to where we are now wasn't exactly straight. Here's what actually happened.

Early development workspace with team collaboration

2019: The Beginning

Kieran Falkov and Dmitriy Berglund met at a tech meetup in Phnom Penh. Both had just left bigger companies and wanted to build something different. Something more personal.

First project was a delivery app for a local restaurant chain. It crashed on launch day. But we fixed it, learned from it, and that client is still with us today.

2020–2021: Finding Our Rhythm

Pandemic hit and suddenly everyone needed apps. We grew fast—maybe too fast. Hired people we shouldn't have. Took projects that didn't fit our skillset.

By mid-2021, we'd figured out what we were actually good at: native mobile apps for businesses that needed reliability over flash. Not the sexiest pitch, but it worked.

2022–2024: Getting Serious

Opened a proper office on Mao Tse Toung Boulevard. Started turning down projects that didn't make sense. Focused on building long-term relationships instead of chasing every lead.

Launched 28 apps during this period. Some became really successful. A few barely got traction. That's just how it goes.

The People Behind the Code

Kieran Falkov, Co-Founder and Lead Developer

Kieran Falkov

Co-Founder & Lead Developer

Spent seven years at a fintech company before starting RouteHubOrg. Still codes daily because he can't help himself. Believes most app problems come from not listening to users enough.

Dmitriy Berglund, Co-Founder and Technical Director

Co-Founder & Technical Director

Handles architecture and planning. Used to work in Stockholm before moving to Cambodia in 2018. Obsessed with performance optimization and making apps run smoothly on older devices.

What We Actually Do Differently

There's no secret formula. Just things we've learned from building apps for six years and watching some succeed while others didn't.

1

We Test on Real Devices

Not just the latest iPhone. We keep a drawer full of older Android phones because that's what most users in this region actually have. If it doesn't work on a three-year-old device with spotty connection, we fix it.

2

Fixed-Scope Projects

We don't do open-ended contracts. Scope gets defined, timeline gets set, price gets agreed. Changes happen, sure, but they're discussed properly, not hidden in hourly billing.

3

You Own Everything

Code, designs, documentation—it's all yours. No hostage situations where you need us to make every tiny update. Though we're happy to stick around if you want ongoing support.

What Drives Our Decisions

These aren't buzzwords on a wall. They're the things we actually reference when we're deciding whether to take a project or how to handle a problem.

R

Realistic Timelines

We'd rather tell you a project takes four months than promise two and deliver in five. Rush jobs usually mean cutting corners somewhere.

C

Clear Communication

Weekly updates aren't optional. If something's delayed or over budget, you hear about it immediately, not at the end.

Q

Quality Over Features

An app with five features that work perfectly beats one with fifteen that sort of work. We push back on feature creep pretty regularly.

L

Local Context

Apps built in Cambodia need to work for Cambodian users. That means considering internet speeds, device types, and how people actually use their phones here.
